DSP RATE:
$17.
85/hour plus $2.
00 per Hour Shift Differential for Weekend Shifts!What you would do as a DSP in Community Living:
You will support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their individual pursuit of a fulfilling life by working as part of a team in a small residential home setting.
You will support residents with life skills and household tasks such as meal planning and preparation, laundry, and light housework; as well as assist with personal care, administer medications, and provide transportation as needed.
When you would work:
We are interviewing DSP candidates to cover a wide variety of shifts throughout the week and weekends.
Current openings include weekends (mornings/afternoons/evenings) and Monday to Friday late afternoon/evenings (starting at 3pm), with limited weekday shifts available.
We have no awake overnight shifts available at this time.
Where you would work:
A lovely residential home in Taneytown, MD or Westminster, MD.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license with no more than 2 current points on record.
Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
Clean drug screen and criminal record (The Arc provides programs, services, and direct care to vulnerable adults)The ability to successfully pass a drug screening.
The ability to complete CPR, First Aid, Certified Medication Technician, and other trainings mandated by the Developmental Disabilities Administration and The Arc.
DSP PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift/manipulate at least 50 pounds frequently with ability to lift, carry and/or exert force in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally.
Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing required:
Including lifting a wheelchair and repositioning an individual.
Ability to transfer individual from a chair to vehicle, bed to chair.
Ability to position individual on a sling or Hoyer lift.
Ability to physically secure individual in a wheelchair to the van with tie-downs.
